What is Manifestation?

Manifestation is the process of attracting or bringing your dreams into reality through various techniques.

In Psychology, manifestation means feeding our subconscious mind in a way that we can attract what we wish through feelings, thoughts and beliefs.

We can even define manifestation as the conscious creation of the circumstances and outcomes that make for a fulfilling life.

This definition allows us to rely on both science-based and more spiritual practices, which can really help us when we’re trying to figure out how to manifest what we want in life.

First time, I heard about manifestation in books like ‘The Secret’ and ‘The Law of Attraction’.

Some scientists will tell you that these books are pseudoscience—which means something that claims to be scientific and factual but is not actually based on the scientific method. Indeed, there is no scientific evidence behind this approach to manifestation.

However, manifestation as an idea is very real. So I believe it’s worth exploring what actually does help people get the lives they desire.

Is Manifestation an Actual Science?

There is actually a fair amount of science involved in manifestation.

A simple example might be that if I really wish to get a dream job of being a therapist, I will work hard to get into a good college, work hard while in college, and create a successful therapy practice that brings me a lot of joy.

According to me the basic theory – Manifestation starts with a wish followed by continuous mental and physical efforts.

It’s important to note, though, that this is different from the popular manifesting guides that suggest that believing in something creates it. This science-based approach instead shows us that if we truly believe we can achieve something, we are willing to put in the work to achieve it. To manifest what we want, we need to believe we can do it, feel strongly enough about it to be persistent, and ultimately engage in the behaviours that bring about the outcomes we desire.

Another fact which supports the theory of manifestation is: Like attracts Like. What you put out into the world is what you get back. Your mind is like a magnet, and the energy you give off will return to you. That’s the idea. Basically, it’s the power of positive energy.

How to Practice Manifestation?

In my research, I have found some very interesting, intriguing and tested methods of manifestation.

Some of these methods are:

1. Vision board

Giving your goals picture and words, and putting them on a vision board gives your mind the freedom to wander. Keeps you on track to achieve them and intensify your energy towards it.

Hang up your board somewhere you’ll see it every day. Seeing your vision board is a great reminder to keep going.

2. Journaling

Journaling gives you a safe space to record your thoughts, worries, and goals without judgment. You can always be yourself on paper. You can keep a manifestation journal to focus on what you’re hoping to achieve.

Plus, you can go back to your journal whenever you want and reflect on how far you’ve come and what goals you’ve met.

You can also try scripting. It tricks your brain into thinking you’ve already accomplished your desires. Write a journal entry from the point of view of your future self. Describe how you feel as if you’ve gotten your dream job, met your soulmate, or won a six-figure salary.

3. Positive Affirmations

I’ve got this. I’m worthy of my dreams. I’m continually learning. I will succeed.

It may sound hokey. But for people who struggle with self criticism and negative thoughts, it is an effective way to retrain thought patterns.

It’s an effective way of manifestation as it feeds the codes in your subconscious that become your beliefs, then your actions and ultimately your reality.

4.Pillow Method

It is said that whatever you think before going to sleep has a huge impact on your subconscious.

This method carries over your positive affirmations into your sleep. Write down your dreams and put them under your pillow before bed.

The theory behind the pillow method is that your last thoughts of the day will help modify your subconscious beliefs in a gradual but powerful way. Your dreams will improve and you’ll wake up feeling better.

Does putting them under your pillow do anything special? No. But writing things down before bed can help clear your mind, and having a positive bedtime ritual can shift your mindset.

5.        369 manifestation method

This numerology manifestation method is very popular and easy. Write down what you want to manifest. You’ll do this:

* 3 times in the morning

* 6 times throughout the day

* 9 times in the evening

If you believe in numerology, by all means use this simple trick. Inventor Nikola-Tesla believed these numbers were divine and could unlock the universe’s secrets.

For everyone else, the 369 method is a reminder to stay intact with the purpose throughout the day. Consistently writing what matters to you can help solidify your sense of purpose and direction. Your intentions shape the direction of your thoughts and actions.

6. Fake it till you make it

The phrase ‘Fake it till you make it’ holds some truth when manifesting your dreams. It takes courage to believe in yourself and continue despite obstacles, but it’s always worthwhile.

There is one more phrase – Don’t dress for the job you have, dress for the job you want.

You’ll manifest the life you truly believe you deserve.

7. Visualize

Whatever you want to attract in your life, imagine it with all the details and with all intensity as if you are living it at that moment. You must have clear visuals in your mind. This is one of the powerful techniques of manifestation.

“When you visualize, then you materialize. If you’ve been there in the mind, you’ll go there in the body.” —Dr. Denis Waitley

Manifestation is a beautiful process which keeps your hopes and aspirations high and helps in achieving them.
